I'm The Kid. Kid Hendrix is my stage name. Some people know me as Jimi The Kid... Well, none of that is important because what I'm really known for is being one of the greatest guitar players the world has ever seen. I say "seen" instead of "heard" because when I made music I wanted to make sure that listening to it on record was great, but seeing me perform it live was another level of greatness. I create with the motivation of giving my fans the full experience. I've always been that way. In actuality, what made me great is also the reason why I got fired in between sets of my very first gig. It's likely the reason why I also got fired by music greats like Little Richard, Ike and Tina Turner. Weirdly enough, being fired never bothered me. Well, it didn't bother me enough to influence a change in my style. I was just different. They claimed that I distracted the crowd from dancing. They didn't know... that was exactly what I was trying to do. I didn't expect them to understand. I've never expected anyone to. I mean, how could anyone wrap their head around playing the guitar the way that I did. Just look at how I held the guitar. I taught myself how to play so I'll hold it however I want to. Think about what I was into. Listen to my rendition of the national anthem. Who else, but me could possibly understand my reasoning for any of that? The whole reason why I asked my father for an electric guitar was to make sure that I would be heard amongst the other instruments in the band. That is what grew inside me and manifested itself as the most creative, inventive, entertaining and spectacular guitarist in history. I made music that was meant to be heard, seen, felt and ultimately experienced by every person who came across it. The Jimi Hendrix Experience was so different and that's probably why it's undeniably one of the greatest experiences in music. By being myself, I was unique and no one else could do what I did. I was different and I was able to turn that into greatness by following my heart. My vision remained the same from the origin. I followed my own vision of G R E A T N E S S.
