The Kid's Brotherhood

Most decisions we make are a step into the unknown. We make choices inspired by the information presented to us up until that moment. It is extremely difficult to predict what will happen in the moments to follow. Recently, I was faced with one of the hardest decisions of my life. After complications with my recovery from injury, I lost confidence in my ability to perform at 100% strength. When I didn't feel healthy, I knew that I couldn't play. My gut told me that I shouldn't rush back. That was the hardest choice that I had to make. I knew the backlash that I would receive by deciding not to force myself back out onto the court. I promised myself that I would always give the game everything that I could. I knew that my injury would hold me back from doing just that. I was an under recruited 18 year old when I left North Carolina for New York City. I am blessed to have been able to play at Columbia University and develop relationships that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I never imagined that I would be recruited by some of the most historic college basketball programs in the country. It is for that reason that I am eager to play for Duke University, play for Coach K and be a part of The Brotherhood for life. I am excited to be close to home, play in front of my family and compete for a National Championship. This all started with the hardest decision of my life. An injury that tested me every step of the way. Now I am confidently preparing to be a part of The Brotherhood. LET'S GO BLUE DEVILS!
